It's being said, today, that "Americans deserve better," and the Rock & Roll Church of All Nations agrees with these words. But not as John Edwards meant them.
America deserves better from the Democrats. Better than John Kerry and John Edwards. Democrats played the Republicans' game, the game of Mirrors and Tricks, putting the likes of Kerry and Edwards up against an incumbent, Republican President.
How can the Democratic Party even show its face? Putting a rich, White, male senator and a rich, White, male trial lawyer on the ticket...neither of whom had anything to offer the people except their own unbridled ambition - shame on them. Why didn't they put women and minorities up against Bush, especially since they knew they couldn't beat him, anyway? You have to go out to the "fringes" of third parties to find wisdom and courage like that. That's exactly what I have done, and what I urge you to do. After having been a Democrat all of my life, I am now a Green.
Why didn't the Dems have the wisdom and grace to know that they couldn't beat Bush by running a Bush Clone against him? I'll tell you why: because they DON'T have wisdom. They're just another kettle of money-hungry, power-hungry politicians.
Americans have chosen the devil they know, George W. Bush, as I knew they would. There was never a doubt in my mind that Bush would win.
Does America really "deserve" better? I believe that we will receive what we deserve, eventually, as the immutable Law of Cause and Effect turns the Karmic Wheel of Dharma. In other words, everything's going to work out. Don't Worry, Be Happy!
This is the United States of America, not the Roman Empire. We have our Constitution. We will survive! We survived Dwight Eisenhower and Richard Nixon, didn't we? Be patient, and let the pendulum swing.
As members of the Rock & Roll Church of All Nations, we acknowledge calmly that George W. Bush has let loose the dogs of war. He has done it too soon, because he is a boy, not a man. We will survive, despite the leadership of this cruel and stupid boy.
